The well-known travel magazine Connoisseur Circle has once again presented awards for "Germany's Best Hotels" – the Parkhotel Adler has now made it to 3rd place in the "Romantic Hotels" category! The rating is based on votes by the general public through the official Trust You Score, the globally-renowned "satisfaction survey". The nominated hotels must provide an exceptional standard of service and offerings in order to be included in the survey. Through this campaign the publisher pays tribute to hosts and their teams who apply their passion for the profession to create unforgettable holidays and experiences for their customers.

In 2022, the leading lifestyle magazine "Falstaff - Genießen, Wein, Essen, Reisen [wine, food, travel]" rated the Parkhotel Adler "Outstanding", making us one of the "Best of Germany" in the opinion of this renowned publisher. In this year‘s 2023 Spa Award we have now been received a "very good" rating. The awards are based on assessments by the 25,000 Travel Club members as well as the Falstaff expert jury!

According to the Federal Statistical Office, in 2021 alone there were over 10,350 establishments in Germany categorised as classic hotels - TripAdvisor has just announced that we are one of the 25 most popular national hotels on their portal! This is a very significant result for us as we have so far been rated over 600 times on this high profile website.

Following the renovation of the rooms in the main building, these two categories in the historic Black Forest House have now also been refurbished so the redesign of the residential units has been completed for the time being – the creative colour scheme and furnishings in each of the 64 accommodation units vary purely as a result of the method of construction. However, they all have one thing in common: elegance.

This is not only attributable in part to cost savings due to the energy crisis but is also something we feel strongly about – as symbolized by our newly created Green Eagle emblem.

For the daily price of € 30.00 you can rent one of the e-bikes which we have recently procured – you can make the reservation via the e-mail that you will receive from us a few days before your arrival. There are a number of attractive trails available, such as the Breitnau Tour or Black Forest Lake Cycle Path. You can do both from Hinterzarten itself. For more distant routes there’s the convenient option of transporting the bike via the Höllentalbahn.

This association recently approached us to find out whether we would like to become a member. We accepted the invitation without hesitation as we see ourselves undoubtedly as ranking alongside the other sophisticated, historic member hotels which currently number more than 100 in nine European countries. “Breathing in” the extraordinary atmosphere of buildings and places steeped in history is always a very special experience. Visitors can let their imagination wander, transporting them through the centuries during which various individuals with colourful life stories worked as hoteliers or visited the houses as guests.

Together with its partners – the “Handelsblatt” (trade journal), the well-known trade magazine “Allgemeine Hotel- und Gaststättenzeitung” (magazine for hotel and restaurants), the IU International University and Passion for Excellence AG – the Institute for Service and Leadership Excellence AG publishes an annual guide, listing the 101 best hotels in Germany. The 2022 edition not only contains an article about the Parkhotel Adler; the hotel also won an award in the “Hotels in historic buildings” category (3^rd place) as well as recognition from the “Award for Digitalisation from the German Hotel Industry” (8^th place).

We are proud of the fact that following a detailed on site assessment, our hotel was honoured once again as “Winner of of the Family Holiday rating”. The award ceremony was held on the 8th November 2021. The certificate was presented by Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism of the State of Baden-Württemberg to our Head of Reservations Daniel Bank and his daughter Ellie (4^th and 3^rd person from the right). Two years earlier the Minister had awarded Katja Newman the state’s Enterprise Medal. Likewise, Hinterzarten also won an accolade as a destination.

In the year 1446, exactly 575 years ago and in the midst of the upheaval from the Late Middle Ages to the Renaissance period, the family of hotel manager Katja Newman acquired this property together with the manor that formed part of the estate at that time. Rooms were rented out right from the start, with an inn being added later. We would like to show our appreciation to our guests with some anniversary offers!

The leading wellness hotel collaboration “Leading Spa Hotels” has admitted us as a member and that’s made us very proud. We’re also delighted about the fact that the anonymous testers from “Gusto – the 2020/2021 Culinary Guide” have awarded our “Adler Stuben” Restaurant five pans!

After the reopening, which everyone is already looking forward to with eager anticipation, this is what’s in store for guests: a designer ‘feel-good’ lobby with integrated bar, an elegant new room in the "Adler Stuben" restaurant, a renovated indoor children's play area and a new colour and interior design concept in the wellness pavilion.

On the evening of 13.11.2019, the Managing Partner Katja Newman was awarded the Enterprise Medal of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing Construction, for her commitment to business – much to the delight of the 16th generation hotel manager, her family and the entire hotel team.

After operating for 13 years, the “Café Diva” building was closed as a coffee house on Monday, 4.11.2019. Reopening in August 2020 as a state-of-the-art, sumptuous conference and event location. The new name: “Pavilion Diva”.
